Vegueros Centrogordos arrives in Canada
Presented by The Smokin’ Cigar Inc, renowned Habanos Specialist in Toronto, Canada, boasting over 25 years of expertise in the Habanos world. The latest addition to the Vegueros brand was unveiled on May 14th, 2024, in the Canadian market: Centrogordos (54 ring gauge x 4 inches long). This unveiling took place at an exclusive event hosted at the prestigious National Club in Toronto, marking the inception of the “Un Habano Nuevo” concept for local launches.
The debut of the Vegueros Centrogordos at this iconic Club, which was celebrating its 150th anniversary, stands as one of Toronto’s premier social and business hubs. Approximately 75 Habanos enthusiasts attended the event. Among the attendees were the esteemed “Team Caballeros”: champions of the International Competition Habanos World Challenge 2024 (Philip Ramos, Aaron Ignacio, and their coach Francisco Rojas, Master in Habanos). Executives from Havana House Cigar and Tobacco Merchants Ltd, the official distributor of Habanos in the region also attended, as well as the Cuban Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca and General Consul in Toronto Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta.
In addition to the protagonist vitola of the night, Vegueros Centrogordos, attendees had the opportunity to sample other magnificent cigars like Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills. Notably, it was praised by the “Team Caballeros” as the standout vitola in the final of the HWC 2024 competition. Their victory was secured by accurately identifying it in a blind tasting, considered one of the most challenging tests in the cigar world. Another highlight was San Luis Rey Regios, an exceptional and distinctive vitola from the brand, all expertly paired with Legendario rum.
In the event the attendances not only enjoyed the new vitola Centrogordos, it also offered a chance to savor authentic Cuban products; it provided a platform for participants to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and culture surrounding Habanos. The venue offered lively Cuban music, enchanting dance performances and delicious food.
The Centrogordos, is a new vitola by Vegueros, the brand that was born to pay homage to all Cuban farmers who, from generation to generation have grown tobacco mainly in the Pinar del Rio region. From May 14th, 2024, lovers of Habanos may enjoy the new cigar in the Canadian market.
